Before my husband and I met, he had accrued quite a substantial amount of debt.  He realized his mistakes and sought help with his debt management.  He went to a consolidation company that helped put everything together for one payment.  This company also got the creditors off of his back.  The calls still come every so often, but he just refers them to his consolidation company.  Since he found help things have been much smoother and not as stressful with paying off his credit cards.  We just balance our budget and know that we need to watch how much we are spending so we do not end up in the same boat again.
